Meet the Commissioners - Mrs Ruth Laird

Mrs Ruth Laird appointed 1 June 2006. Mrs Laird has over 20 years experience in the field of human resource management and organisational development, working in the public, private and voluntary sectors. She was formerly Director of the National Trust NI and Head of Personnel, BBC (NI); and was a Fair Employment Commissioner until 1999. Mrs Laird is a chartered member of the Institute of Personnel and Development. She is currently a member of the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission; a member of the HPSS Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority; and a non-executive Director of the NI Transport Holding Company and the NI Prison Service. Mrs Laird is also a Board Member of Business in the Community.
